I have recently come to the realization that my four year old has the best selective hearing I have ever witnessed.

But mention in passing to my husband that Disney on Ice is coming back to town in hushed murmurs, and she jumps up smiling and spouting exclamations such as, “Disney on Ice!!! Disney on Ice!!! When are we going? In two days??? Three days???”
She doesn’t miss a trick, this one. And I can’t resist that smile.

Oh Michelle, I completely agree with you! Although I have a feeling my husband may suggest she inherited the trait elsewhere. In fact he may have already stated as such, but I don’t think I was listening.
I remember going to Disney On Ice when I was a kid. I can’t blame her for selective hearing…it eventually gets better when they are adults.

We ended up catching 4 yesterday, making the total for 10 in a week and we still have at least one running free in the kitchen. I’ve torn my whole kitchen apart cleaning the pantry, cupboards and dishes and pans! What a waste of time! My friend spells her daughter’s name Sofia too!
