We only have a few plants in our home, and they all have the same problem. They all suffer from some strange H2O deficiency. I marvel at the way they seem to have the same symptoms. They are all dry and the leaves keep falling off. It must be something in the air.
Did you ever see that movie 28 Days with Sandra Bullock about an alcoholic entering the first stages of recovery? There is a discussion in rehab about when is a good time begin dating again. The counselor advises that they should first keep a plant alive for a year, then get a pet (the theory being that once they can nurture a plant and a pet they are mature enough to handle a relationship). Thankfully I am not addicted to any substances because I would be alone for a very long time. Case and point:
My sister in law gave us that plant as a house warming gift. I did manage to keep it alive, but I am here to tell you despite all my efforts it is impossible to kill this plant (sorry Sis). It used to have a lot more ferns. I’m not sure what kind of plant it is, but I highly recommend it for any recovering alcoholic who is otherwise nature challenged.
We are supposed to water it (BWAHAA HAAAA!!!) and give it plenty of sunlight. You can see given my track record thus far and her recent penchant for pointing out my failures that this is going to be a wee bit of a problem for me. Seriously folks, this plant is doomed…and so am I.
