We’ve had a few of those. Fortunately since they put them together in the kitchen we generally survive the initial build. I understand what you are saying about the free for all, and it makes sense, but they have all these Lego City/Friends sets, which are mostly buildings. There’s a fire station, police station, beauty salon, stables, etc. I have a hard time stomaching those just being lost in a bin full of chaos. Ah, the elusive missing piece! I did read a suggestion someplace that said to put down the Lego instructions and let the kids use their imagination to build whatever they want with all of those Lego pieces. Not a bad idea. Throw all the Lego pieces in ONE tupperware (his and hers if necessary) and see what they come up with!
